Furniture & Tableware Trends for 2025:
What’s Making a Statement at Events This Year
Guest Post by Options Greathire
When it comes to curating extraordinary events, design is everything. At 60 Great Queen Street, an Art Deco icon in the heart of Covent Garden, timeless architecture provides the perfect canvas for contemporary creativity. As event spaces evolve, so too does the styling that brings them to life.
In this guest feature, our friends at Options Greathire share event styling trends set to shape standout events in 2025 and beyond. From ‘Old Money’ aesthetics to sculptural glassware and ambient lighting, these are the details that elevate every celebration, whether you’re planning a wedding, brand activation, or gala dinner.
As a venue steeped in timeless elegance and Art Deco charm, 60 Great Queen Street is no stranger to design that stands the test of time. But in the ever-evolving world of event styling, staying on top of current furniture and tableware trends is key to creating truly unforgettable experiences.
At Options Greathire, we work closely with the UK’s top venues and event planners to curate hire collections that reflect what’s next—while nodding to what’s forever.
Here’s a look at the trends making waves in 2025, and how our pieces bring them to life:
1.Modern Drinking Glasses
The art of glassware has never been more refined. From intimate weddings to opulent gala dinners, we’re seeing a resurgence of beautifully shaped glasses that stand out.
Although our Sublym Glass collection remains a favourite amongst stylists for its minimal silhouette, we’d like to focus primarily on our new Carel Glassware range.
Made from high-quality crystalline glass, these glasses offer clarity and brilliance, revealing the true colour of each wine as they sit atop a delicate glass stem in a uniquely shaped chalice.
2. The ‘Old Money’ Aesthetic
Refined, understated, and built to last, this trend is all about classic sophistication, leaning into panelled furniture, heritage colour palettes and luxe textures.
Steeped in the opulence and grandeur of the Regency era, guests will feel like royalty as they enjoy drinks served from our Regency Bar.
3. Endless Dining Tables
Curved tables are stealing the spotlight this year, especially in wedding and private dining settings. Just a quick look at our Instagram will show you how prevalent this trend has become.
The Endless Table is composed of four modular segments which piece together to create a circular, flowing layout that encourages conversation and adds a sense of ceremony to the dining experience. It’s a romantic, showstopping choice for couples and clients looking to break away from traditional formats.
4. Rich, Dark Tones
We’re embracing the return of richer colour shades this year, from antique-stained tables to dark wood accents that add depth and warmth to a space.
The new Mountbaton Range strikes the perfect balance between vintage and contemporary. Featuring the Mountbaton Sofa’s unique ‘bubbled’ twist on the classic leather sofa; the rich, textured wood top and sturdy steel legs of our Mountbaton Coffee Table; and the warm hues of our Mountbaton Dining, Round and Poseur Tables, here’s a trend we’re confident is here to stay.
5. Antique & Vintage Revival
Nothing adds character like a touch of the past.
Our POPOLO per Vaisselle Vintage Plates bring charm, colour, and a sense of storytelling to the table. With their slightly scalloped edges and assorted floral hues, they’re a go-to for stylists wanting to create layered, lived-in looks—whether for garden parties or editorial shoots.
6. Ambient Lighting
The best lighting isn’t just functional, it’s atmospheric, working with the curves and shapes of the room and the furniture inside it, rather than casting a harsh light from above.
Our Célestine Table Lamp combines smoked glass, golden accents, and three-level dimming for perfect ambience at every hour. It’s cordless too, so you can place it wherever the mood needs it most—ideal for show-stopping centrepieces or intimate lounge zones.
7. Mid-Century Modern
Characterised by clean lines, organic forms, and sculptural silhouettes, Mid-Century Modern design continues to be a firm favourite in event styling. From statement lounges to elevated drinks receptions, this trend adds a sense of timeless cool to any setting.
Our Gianni Poseur Table perfectly captures this spirit, with a stunning geometric base inspired by Bertoia’s iconic 1950s designs.
8. Maximalism
Underpinning some of the earlier trends mentioned, such as Mid-Century Modern and the Old Money aesthetic, is a departure from minimalism generally.
The Monaco Sofa encapsulates maximalism with its striking mosaic-patterned seat and cushions, elevated on a sleek wooden platform. It adds a pop of visual interest while contrasting against the simpler wooden base.
9. Statement Tableware
As chefs continue to push boundaries with intricate plating and bold culinary ideas, tableware must rise to the occasion without stealing the spotlight.
Our new Hémisphère Plate Collection strikes the perfect balance. Characterised by fine grooves and matte borders that orbit glossy glazed centres, these plates are available in tones like noir and latte, as well as traditional white, providing just enough edge to stand out while ensuring the dish remains the hero.
10. Timeless Furniture That Never Dates
The best trends are timeless.
Inspired by French neoclassical design, our Chandelle Chair is the perfect example. Exclusive to us, it’s versatile, elegant, and—most importantly—forever in style. With an impressive track record from royal events to film premieres, it remains one of our most in-demand hires.
